I have a thing about not being patient and trying to make things happen. My mom has always said that God laughs at us when we make out plans. I have been trying to figure out what I am suppose to be doing with my life for the past several months, and I have made myself crazy. One of my New Years resolutions was to be quiet, stop trying to force things to happen and to hand it all over to God. I was finally, after almost 38 years (my birthday is Feb. 17 just in case you are the gift giving type) handing everything over to him. I no longer want to be in control. Here you go God you can drive, I am pulling over. For the past month I have gotten up almost every day at 5:30 am, prayed, written down what I am thankful for (on # 756), and read a few passages from a couple of books. During this time I have really seen some changes in myself and how I deal with life on a day to day basis. I feel a lot simpler, I feel peaceful and I feel calm. I have a longggg way to go but things seem to be falling into place. I am trying to let God lead me, instead of doing everything on my own.
Last week I meet my friend Devon for lunch at the Nook Coffee Bar and Eatery. In case you live in Huntersville and want the best lunch in town or a cool place to hang while you have some coffee this is your place. The Nook is located right beside a new little boutique called 32 Flavors Boutique that opened about 6 months ago. I thought I would pop into the boutique since I was early and wouldn’t be meeting Devon for another 20 minutes. I walked in the front door and gasped for air!!! It was the coolest most amazing boutique and it was right here in Huntersville!! In my own backyard!! Don’t get me wrong, I love Huntersville but it is suburbia at it’s best. A mix of art, tons of jewelry, gifts, accessories, beads, and some of my friend Devon’s amazing clothes. Guess who was behind the counter training!?!? Devon!! When Devon saw me, we squealed with delight, and then she introduced me to the owner, Michaella.
Long story short, Michaella needed someone to work Fridays (which will be me) and turns out she takes local handmade art as well! Most of her merchandise is handmade by local artists and artist from all over the country. She also carries tons of bead, findings, and has a workspace where you can make jewelry in a cool boutique setting. 32 Flavors also offers lots of classes (I will be teaching a few) and will be adding new ones each month. I am so thrilled to be a part of this cool unique boutique right here in my own town. If you get a chance and are in the area come see me on Fridays and check out 32 Flavors!!
Here is a little sneak peak of 32 Flavors Boutique and some inspiration for the day!!!!
