Christmas Gift Idea and Giveaway!

Fabric Necklaces.  Love.

Easy to make, materials are cheap, and the necklace is so light weight you don’t even know that you are wearing it!  Hello Christmas gifts idea!

Grab fabric scrapes for the necklace front.  For these necklaces I used pieces of a quilt top.

Cut into any shape you love.
Pick a thicker sturdier piece of fabric for the back and cut into same shape.

You can either hand sew or machine sew your two circle pieces together.  I would suggest using embroidery floss is you are going to hand sew.

I sew several times around the circle on the edge.  The sloppier the better!  Gives it that handmade look!

Not sure what the name of this is, but grab it if you have it.  If you don’t it is not necessary.

Cut a tiny hole at the top of you circle.
Poke the tool though the small hole and then put the round thing on top.  Squeeze the tool hard.  Boy it would really help if I knew what this thing was called.  No time to google, I have a pizza that will be delivered shortly!!

Grab some split rings.

I made these out of fabric scrapes last spring.

These were made out of burlap scrapes!

wow, can’t believe I missed this. My birthday is Dec 11. oh well…still want to say I love this idea. My son is active duty and every time he is deployed I make him a quilt. I am going to use this idea (if you don’t mind) to make myself something with all the scraps I have been saving til I could figure out what to do with them. They are not big enough to make a quilt but would work great for this. Please let me know if it is OK to use your idea. I would have 4 and could link them into a bracelet or necklace. Thank you for sharing.
